About Daily Korean
Daily Korean is for people learning Korean who want to use it, not just study it.
Each lesson takes one real situation, like ordering coffee, and walks through it the way it actually happens: what people say to you, what you say back, and the small details textbooks skip.
How each lesson works
Every phrase comes with four things:
- The Korean, written the way people really say it.
- Romanization, so you can read it before you know Hangul.
- A plain-English meaning, not a word-for-word translation.
- When to use it, because knowing a phrase and knowing when to say it are different skills.
On devices that have a Korean voice installed, you’ll also see Listen and Slow buttons next to each phrase.
About the romanization
We use the Revised Romanization of Korean, the official system in South Korea. It’s a guide to get you started, not a perfect map of the sound. Where a word sounds different from how it’s spelled, the lesson points it out.
Videos
Lessons are paired with videos for listening practice. The video trains your ear, and the lesson page gives you the full phrase list to keep.
Board rules
The community board is for practicing together. A few simple rules keep it fun:
- Mistakes are the point. Post your Korean even if you’re not sure. Nobody here is perfect.
- Correct kindly. Say what works first, then suggest one fix.
- No ads, no spam, no personal info. Don’t post phone numbers, addresses or messenger IDs, yours or anyone else’s.
- Report, don’t argue. If something’s off, use Report. Posts reported by several people are hidden automatically, and we review them.
There’s no sign-up. Your browser keeps a private key so you can delete your own posts from the same device. If you clear your browser data, that key is gone, so let us know through the board if you need something removed.
